About Dr. Alan Bardikoff

      Dr. Alan Bardikoff graduated from York University with a Honours Bachelor of Arts, and then completed a Masters of Education and Doctorate of Education in Counselling at the Ontario Institute of Education/University of Toronto. He has been a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 1989.
                Prior to establishing his private practice, Dr. Bardikoff worked in both hospital settings and community agencies treating anxiety, depression and other emotional and behavioural disorders. He has worked on hospital Day Treatment Programs for both adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety and psychotic disorders. He was the Clinical Manager of the Jerome D. Diamond Adolescent Centre where he directed both the residential and day treatment of young people challenged by a variety of emotional and behavioural problems. Dr. Bardikoff was responsible for overseeing treatment and providing direction for the team of professionals engaged by the centre. Dr. Bardikoff has also consulted to numerous schools on an ongoing basis and supervised the mental health team at a private school serving children with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
                Currently in addition to seeing patients in his office he consults to treatment facilities in Toronto, including children’s aid societies, an adolescent treatment centre, general service agencies for families and children, and specialized programs for adolescents placed in residential custody by the court. Dr. Bardikoff’s interest in young people and the challenges facing them today is both professional and community based. Dr. Bardikoff has served on community boards and worked on youth programming committees in a number of agencies within the City of Toronto.
